Gismo von den Kasematten (standard wire-haired sire)
When I met Gismo, he was 4 months old. The small male was so cute and charming, I lost my heart to him immediately.
Unfortunately he was bitten at 6 weeks, both elbows had litteraly being destroyed. Thanks to an incredible vet who did not hesitate to drive him to Paris, where she new the only person able to save him, he did survive and better than that. He was given 10% survival chance with a heavy handicap. After one month at the vet-clinic, plenty of surgery and a long physical therapy, he became the most cheerful, healthy and kind little dachshund I know. He just keeps from this past a light wrong position of his front legs and scars on his back, burned by infrared lamps.
Despite his wounds, Gismo got an Excellent (placed second) on november 5, 2011 during an international CACIB in the open class. He got loads of compliments for his beauty, the quality of his hair, the faultless line of his back, the incredible eyes, the head and the ears. He has been confirmed for reproduction in France and has been authorized by the german dachshund-club DTK.
Gismo has succeeded at bringing back from a duck in water (this includes the resistance to gun-fire) in 2010. The same year year he made a second place at the first obedience levels (BHP-G). 2011 he passed the second obedience levels (BHPS-G) with the mention Excellent, a very high score and he was granted the price for the best dachshund at this exam in the region Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland.
